I am so sorry, y’all. I’m sure you guys are so tired of seeing me change my blog all the time, but I am just so dang indecisive. Like for real, guys. It’s a problem. Whether it’s clothes, food, or my blog (obvs), I change my mind all the time. But I think I’ve figured it out…
A portfolio is something every photographer (or any type of artist for that matter) has/needs. It’s a great way to showcase your abilities. Well, I started this blog to be a travel/adventurey (is that even a word??) type of blog. Considering the fact that I am a college student who works at a fast food restaurant (for the next two weeks, at least,), exciting trips that would actually be interesting are not exactly the easiest to accomplish. It is especially hard to do cute, Tumblr-worthy, roadtrips with my besties OFTEN.
Slowly this website turned into my portfolio, all I was posting on here were my photos, not really anything else. So, I made a portfolio using CarbonMade. I will have links to that on this blog, but I want to reclaim The Ash Gypsy. Folks, we are going back to lifestyle & travel blogging.
I recently put my two-week notice in at my work. That is an interesting story and I prefer to into go into detail. So starting December 23rd I will be doing photography full-time. That’s a pretty nerve-wracking thing. I am trying to find a way to stand out from the other photographers in the OKC area, but that’s a lot easier said than done. I am currently working on a super fun project for potential clients interested in senior portraits (stay tuned!).
Being a photographer isn’t just something I like to do, it’s something I love to do. Photography is not something I could just give up. Thinking about driving around the country, going to different national parks, hidden gems, meeting new people, & spending the rest of my life doing what I love is what fuels me. It’s what keeps me going, even when I haven’t had any clients in a month or hit a creative “road block”. This isn’t just a hobby, it’s a dream. There is a HUGE difference. You can’t make your dreams realities without giving up certain things here and there.
I am here to tell you that dreams are only dreams temporarily, if you are willing to work for them.
Below is one of my favorite quotes,
“You don’t take a photograph. You make it.”
That being said, I took all of my galleries off of this blog. I left the previous posts on here, but if you would like to view my portfolio you can do so here.
So, if anyone wants to do a photoshoot send me a message, I am definitely available.
